Orbisk aims to reduce food waste and make the food system more sustainable. With their highly committed team and by making use of the most recent advancements in AI, they have already been able to help save 130,000 kg of food waste.
A ‘Food Waste Saving Potential Calculator’ is an interactive tool that we introduced on the newly launched Orbisk website at the beginning of 2022. It is aimed at professional kitchens, restaurants and caterers interested in reducing food waste, allowing them to calculate the amount of potential food waste savings. At the end of 2022, Orbisk reached out to us with the request of elevating this Saving Calculator and turning it into a lead magnet.
You might be wondering, what is a lead magnet? A lead magnet is a marketing tool that generates leads by offering a downloadable resource in exchange for a prospect's contact information. The most commonly used lead magnets are ebooks, whitepapers, or templates, but there are many more creative ways to implement a lead magnet on a website. Here is how we, together with Orbisk’s marketing team, reimagined the Savings Calculator as a lead magnet.
Initially, the ‘Food Waste Saving Potential Calculator’ consisted of four input fields: The number of containers with food waste thrown away each week; the average amount of preventable waste (which Orbisk estimates at 60kg per container); the price per kilogram of preventable food waste (estimated at €7,-) and the number of weeks (52) a location is open per year.
We have successfully made several upgrades to this tool. A new formula input was implemented, where users can enter the number of locations of a certain establishment, allowing for an overall calculation. We also added two new outputs: the users can now calculate their CO2 & Water savings, next to the food waste savings. These are major sustainability factors that add value to the calculator tool, since it makes the users aware of the positive impact they can have on the planet.
To turn the Savings Calculator into a lead magnet, we added an option to send the results summary directly to a user’s email. Next to that, Orbisk created a document with tips on how to reduce food waste to inspire the users, which is also sent to every prospect requesting the Savings Potential summary. We integrated the lead magnet with Hubspot where all the emails are collected, making it easy for Orbisk to follow up on these new leads. With the user’s consent Orbisk can also send automated emails and email marketing campaigns to their new leads.
